All that Kale by Jule Korneffel

By on

At a first glance, Jule  Korneffel’s work is inviting. A -primarily- solid colour background with circles. As you get closer to it the pieces show the layers and layers of colours that are stacked on top of each other.

In this collection, she’s gone for colours that pop, like mint, lilac, coral and aquamarine. Look closely enough and you’ll be able to find a dash of one of these colours on a piece where you least expect it. Her pieces in the collection are fun, easy on the eye. They make you want to know what she’s going to pull out next. This is an artist who I hope to see more from in the future.

The German-born artists, who now lives in New York, is exhibiting for the first time in London at the Class Reiss gallery. Her work resembles those of who she draws inspiration from, like Mary Heilmann and Agnes Martin.

The work was set to open up November 5th, 2020 but due to Covid restrictions in London, it had to be postponed for December, where it was open for a couple of weeks until the gallery had to shut again. All that kale has now been extended until the 30th of January 2021. lmente se ha prolongado hasta el 30 de enero de 2021.
